How to apply for a Public Services Card

A Public Services Card (PSC)  is needed in order to apply for all Driver Theory tests.The below video will explain what a PSC is and why you need to apply for one.

Applying for a PSC is easy, please follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Register a basic account on

https://www.mygovid.ie/

Step 2: Select ‘Go to mywelfare.ie’ in ‘Available Services’

Step 3: Select Appointments

 

Step 4: Complete the ‘Book an appointment’ steps, choosing the time, date and location that suits you. Select an Intreo (Department of Social Protection) office that is convenient for you.

Step 5: Read and review the list of required Identification documents which you will need for your appointment

Step 6: Confirm your appointment

 

Step 7: Attend the local Intreo office on the date of your appointment with the required documents. Your appointment will take approx. 15 minutes during which your photo and signature will be captured.

Once complete you will have the Public Services Card posted to your address within 5 -7 working days.

When you receive your PSC card, you can now apply for your Driver Theory test
