Once you have carefully read through the steps required to schedule your Driver Theory Test, you may proceed to complete your booking in real time and receive immediate, on-screen and e-mail/letter confirmation. Please note, candidates must schedule their exam using an Irish address. Candidates who have scheduled their exam using an address outside of the Republic of Ireland will not be allowed to test. To apply for an Irish Learner Permit/Driver Licence candidates must hold an address in the Republic of Ireland, therefore all Driver Theory Test candidates must present with an address in the Republic of Ireland.
ATTENTION! All candidates: Please ensure that the spelling of the name and the number on the public sevices card with which you book your test matches exactly the spelling of your name and number on the Public Services Card that you will present at the test centre. This is very important as you may not be allowed to test if the names differ.
From June 16th, any person sitting a Driver Theory Test will be required to present a Public Services Card (PSC) at the Test Centre as proof of ID.
For all bookings made from June 1st 2017 onward, applicants will be asked to confirm that they possess a Public Services Card. During the booking process applicants will be asked to enter the 12 digit number from the rear of the public services card. Please ensure this matches exactly with the number on the card which you will present on the day of testing.
Please ensure to bring your PSC card with you on the day of testing or you will not be able to test.
Bus and Truck Module Theory Tests
Please Note; only drivers who have passed a full Category C (Truck) Theory Test or full Category D (Bus) Theory Test on or after 30th September 2014, are eligible to sit a Bus or Truck Module Test.
